  • Ever Wonder How Things Work? Cleva offers us an inside look with an Industrial Vacuum Cutaway

Posted on April 29th, 2014 admin No comments

    Cleva Cutaway

Cleva North America has a powerful line of vacuum equipment and they are proud to show their winning technology with this Power Head cutaway. This image shows the internals of a Vacmaster Industrial 2-stage wet/dry vac, and all the features that make their product shine.

The cutaway features a 2 filter design, where both filters are cut-away to show even the detailed design of the filtration media. The cutaway allows Cleva North America the opportunity to explain easily the important aspects of the Vacmaster Industrial design. The addition of CalCo’s signature blue cut face paint shows the viewer exactly where cuts were taken to help visualize the uncut product as well.

Yamaha completely exposed their technology at the Miami Boat show with a new cutaway of their F200 Outboard Engine. The cutaway allows customers to see the interior configuration of the engine and understand how it works.  The different passageways are painted in different colors to provide a clear understanding of how different fluids and air travel through the system.   The display is great for attracting attention and is a good conversation starter with customers, plus it just looks cool!

The entire booth was awesome and the video below features some equally awesome cutaways by CalCo that make a cameo (Can you spot them?)

  • A Small Product Can Make a BIG Impact as a Cutaway

Corning Gilbert cutaway by CalCo Cutaways

A cutaway is used to show the internal parts of your product which can be your most important selling tool.   The internals are often what separate your product from the competition so giving your customer an opportunity to view the actual parts and how they interrelate helps explain the advantage of your product.  If  “a picture is worth a thousand words” then how much is the real thing worth?  Usually when we think of a cutaway we think of a large engine or pump with many complexities but cutaways can be done for any size and kind of product.  Sometimes smaller items or simply constructed products can benefit the most from a cutaway.

Recently we cutaway a coaxial cable connector with great results.  A cutaway of this nature is difficult because once the cable is cut it will not stay together.  There are numerous layers that can separate and fall out of place.   In this case we were able to embed the product in acrylic so all of the parts are visible and will stay in place.  A greater benefit is that the end result not only shows the product but can be engraved with your name, logo or any other information  and in this case it is being used as a marketing tool.  What a great way to show your product and get your name in front of your customers!

CalCo has been designing and producing high quality cutaways since 1953.  To make a cutaway we take your product and physically cut it open to show the inner parts that make your product unique.  Cutaways are invaluable tools because they are interactive.  They allow your customer to see, feel and in many cases move your product to see the most important features hidden inside.

Cutaways can be used for a wide variety of products including the following:

    • Valves
    • Pumps
    • Engines
    • Transmissions
    • Actuators
    • Tools
    • Machines
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
    • Regulators
    • Torches
    • Appliances
    • Electrical and Electronic Equipment

We have created cutaways from many materials including plastic controllers, speakers and toilets.    We have the capability to cut any material and in any thickness, from the toughest grade of stainless steel to ceramics.

Cutaways have become quite popular at tradeshows but they are also used for lobby installations, investor relations meetings, sales calls, advertising and brochures, training and awards.
