  • Technician Training and it’s Importance

(Training cutaway from CalCo provides a hands-on reference)

Technician training is a crucial component of any successful project or installation.

Proper maintenance and upkeep of equipment keeps it running and out of the service area. If this equipment does reach the service department, you want it back to running condition quickly as well.

Hands on training and technician familiarity with your machinery can make or break profitability. Keep your process firing on all cylinders by keeping your equipment in great working order.

CalCo creates visual training cutaways that bring your students up to speed more quickly, giving them a familiarity with the product on a visual and tactical level.

Text books and manuals can only go so far, but a wide-open cutaway, showing how and why everything works together the way it does, speeds up understanding and brings together many ideas.

An investment in education can save tens of thousands of dollars in lost production, broken equipment and inefficient service departments. Protect your equipment and speed up your reaction times with training cutaways.

Give CalCo a call at +1 847-639-3858 to discuss your training team’s equipment needs.

Posted on May 18th, 2017 admin No comments

    boxes

You want to get your product into your distributors’ and salespeople’s hands and need a certain amount of inventory to do so. The problem is, that number changes throughout the year.

Save time and money by having an updated stock of cutaways ready for your sales and marketing efforts. Have your latest product(s) ready to hit to road, ready for the next sales event and ready for customer meetings or trainings with CalCo’s Inventory Cutaway Program.

What is CalCo’s Inventory Cutaway Program?

We have different options to meet your internal inventory needs.

Option 1: Calco holds your inventory and generates a new replenishment order when the inventory is under a specified threshold number of your choosing. We can keep all your cutaways at our location and ship them directly to your distributors, salespeople or anyone else when they want to purchase your product(s). Once we’re under the threshold number, we can order more cutaways for you.

Option 2: You are in control for your inventory and you let CalCo know when your cutaway supply is running low so we can replenish your order.

    What are the benefits?

Our program creates numerous benefits including:

An automated distribution package that makes inventory tracking easier for you.

An on-demand distributor program that allows flexibility for distributors to purchase your product(s) since demand changes.

A better handle on inventory control since the number of products can be held at CalCo, which saves you space.

A sense of consistency since inventory is systematic and predictable for us and for you.

    Can anyone join?

Anyone who feels their business can take advantage of our inventory program are welcome to join.

    Is there a fee?

There is no fee to join the program! We charge for our cutaway services (service cost is valid for up to a year) and will provide quotes for each product on a case by case basis.

Is this useful for someone who only orders occasionally?

This program works for everyone and is useful for anyone who is tired of keeping track of inventory, regardless of how big or small their orders are.

CalCo can make your professional life easier by assisting you with your inventory needs. Contact Dave Kasper at dkasper@calcocutaways.com for any further questions or information regarding CalCo’s Inventory Cutaway Program.

  • A Scale Model for CEI Enterprises

Posted on February 4th, 2016 admin No comments

CEI Enterprises, an Astec Industries company, recently contracted CalCo to produce a 1:20 scale model of a mobile batch cement mixing plant, which measures 16’ x 8’. The concept is centered on highlighting their cement-mixing facility, which can be on a client’s site, and can start cement-mixing operations as quickly or temporarily as needed. The model itself took over two months to build (which is actually fast for this level of detail), and it separates into six individual sub-sections for shipping. The large container and rigid construction help protect the fragile display during the often unpredictable freight shipping process. Models can be created from 3D CAD files or from simple line drawings. CalCo’s hand-built models help show off large and complex solutions in a portable and immersive way. CalCo has been creating head-turning tradeshow and showroom models for over 60 years, so why not trust your next project with proven professionals?

  • CalCo Can Help Create Training Programs and Training Aids For Your Company

Posted on November 4th, 2010 admin No comments

    Dealer Programs

    Better Production through Proper Training

Your organization may have the best people around but without proper training even the best people can be underutilized and less productive.

CalCo offers several ways to train your personnel. One is through e-learning programs. The benefit of these on-line or DVD training sessions is that they are customized to your company and they ensure that all employees are taught the same information and procedures to increase knowledge across the board. Testing can be included to monitor retention and understanding.

CalCo also offers hands-on training aids.  Some types include actual cutaways of your product showing functionality,  light-weight models which can be easily shipped or moved from one location to another, training boards, animation showing a process or product in action, displays or booths.   Most people respond to a hands-on approach and can get a better understanding of a product when they can look at it and explore it on their own. Training aids help to give a visual, tactile and more complete understanding of a product or process.

If you need help with any kind of training aids contact CalCo to start a discussion.  Call 847-639-3858 or click here or on the envelope icon at the top right of the page for contact information.

  • Alternatives to Large Trade Show Displays – Animation, Scale Models and Large Scale Printing

Posted on August 24th, 2010 admin No comments

Do you have large products to display at your next trade show?  Are the logistics of moving them around getting to you?  CalCo has some options for displaying your large products in a memorable way.  We offer animation, scale models or large scale printing as alternative options for your large products.

Our animation can show your product in action and it can be completely interactive for your customers.   They can choose whether to start or stop the animation and what information will help them or the animation can play continously.  Additional literature can also be accessed to provide more detailed information.  Our unique perspective on the way products work and the cutaway process give us good insight in to what your customer wants to see and how to achieve it.  The beauty of animation is that it can be used in multiple environments – at a trade show, on your website or on sales calls.

Scale models are another option to show your product in complete detail by using a light-weight, full color model.   We can create a cutaway section of the model as well to show the interior components and how they interrelate.  Your model is an exact duplicate of your product but in a small transportable size.  We can create a custom case to make moving it to your next trade show or sales call easy.

CalCo has worked on all sorts of projects but these large displays make a huge and memorable impression.   Catch your customers attention with a BIG display and see people flock to your booth.

The large and tall display stand above demands attention with space to put numerous products , and with the flexibility to change the products, it can work for years to come.   The stand was custom designed to the clients specifications and we created custom signage to fit.  We created a custom shipping container for the product below to protect it during transit and for easier loading and unloading at shows.  These large products look fantastic on display. Together the stand, large products and large signage create a HUGE impression on customers.  No longer are they just walking by,  they are stopping to look, touch and listen.

  • Waterjet Cutting Ideas for your Product Display

Posted on June 25th, 2010 admin No comments

For nearly 60 years the art of cutting away products to cleverly and professionally show their internal workings has been evolving with the available technology. One such technology that is finding many new uses every day is WATER JET cutting.

The water jet cutting process utilizes water instead of noxious gases or liquids and is a cold-cutting process so there is no danger of melting the material that is being cut. Ultrahigh pressure water is used to cut through metal, stone, plastics, composites, glass, ceramics or rubber up to 8 inches thick.

There are many applications for waterjet cutting and at CalCo we use it primarily for displays and signage.  Below we cut a corporate logo into a stand which was then lit from within.
